Cohort: Conselice Study of Brain Aging

Introduction to the Cohort
The Conselice Study of Brain Aging (CSBA) began in 1999 when 1,016 (75%) of the 1,353 individuals at least 65 years old living in the Italian municipality of Conselice participated in a prevalence study of cognitive impairment. There were 401 (53.5%) females in the study population at baseline. A two-phase screening was performed during 1999 to 2000. Identification and differential diagnosis of incident dementia cases occurred during 2003 to 2004.

Ethnicity Breakdown
Participants were all residents of a municipality in northern Italy. No other information on ethnicity or race has been reported.
